Nenia Campbell was born and raised in the United States. From infancy, she was fond of books- especially the cardboard ones; they were the most delicious. As she grew older, she learned that 'devouring a book' was a phrase not to be taken literally. As a result, she became a very enthusiastic reader. When she discovered that the stories she wanted to read did not exist she became an enthusiastic writer, as well.

FMM: As one of the most followed reviewers on Goodreads, how do balance your time between reading and writing? Do you have set times for both? NC: I don't really have a structured schedule. Whenever I get "itchy writer fingers" that's usually when I write. (Itchy writer fingers is a combination of boredom, guilt, and overactive imagination.) As for reading, whenever I have a free moment, I usually have a book with me. It helps, of course, that my friends are also active readers--when I finish a book, I usually hand it off to them and then we discuss it over coffee or lunch. When you're really passionate about something, it's easy to make time for it.

FMM: Do you ever experience writer's block? If so, how do you manage.

NC: I take a step back from whatever I'm working on and try to do something else--write a different scene, read a book, watch TV. Forcing a scene is never good. Sometimes you have to work around the block, or even go backwards and try to come up with a different route. I find that if I'm stuck on a scene it's often because it doesn't work for the plot in question, or I'm approaching it from the wrong angle.

FMM: What would you classify your writing style as?

NC: I'm not really sure. Dark...and different. I've been told I have a way with words. I'm always seeing my quotes floating around on Twitter. That makes me happy. I like thinking of new ways to describe the world and seeing people relate to that. :)

FMM: If you had to choose a song or playlist to go along with any of your novels, which song would you choose?

FMM: Do you have any special talents? If so, what are they?

NC: I played the flute for ten years. I can figure out songs by memory. I know a bunch of Hayao Miyazaki songs, pretty much all of the Super Smash Bros. songs, and various songs from Final Fantasy. I can also read freakishly fast. Oh, and my thumbs are double-jointed. ;)
